Gilbert, W. S.
THE BAB BALLADS: with Songs of a Savoyard.
London: Macmillan & Co Ltd.
1908. First edition, sixth printing. W. S. Gilbert wrote a large number of "ballads" using his pen-name "Bab." Many of these ballads became the source for plots and songs for the G&S operas. Bound by Bumpus in full green leather with all edges gilt, gilt lettering on spine and five raised bands. The spine has faded to brown, there is minor wear to corners, and foxing spots on end papers and adjacent page, but a nice production.
